All voters in Escambia County will be mailed a new voter information card beginning this week. The updated card will reflect district changes approved over the past few months by the County Commission, School Board and City of Pensacola redistricting process following the 2010 Census. Most voters will not see a change in their polling place for the upcoming January 31, 2012 Presidential Preference Primary election. However, a more substantial change in precincts and polling locations will occur following the redistricting of congressional and legislative districts by the Florida Legislature next year. As such, all voters will receive another card prior to the August primary election.
Voters should be on the lookout for their new card, and contact the elections office immediately with any necessary updates. Voter information cards are NOT required when voting; Florida requires photo and signature ID when voting in person.
Election Reminders: Voters can still request an absentee ballot and update their voter record and signature. Visit EscambiaVotes.com and complete the online request form, call or email the elections office. Early voting begins January 21 at four locations throughout Escambia County. While only Republicans are eligible to vote in that party’s Presidential Preference Primary, all voters, regardless of party affiliation, are eligible for the countywide referendum.

Be sure to include a valid Florida Driver’s License number, a valid Florida ID number, or the last four digits of your Social Security Number in the appropriate space. Mail the completed application no later than January 3 to Escambia County Supervisor of Elections, P.O. Box 12601, Pensacola, FL 32591-2601 or take the completed application to the Elections Office at 213 Palafox Place, second floor, in downtown Pensacola. In Person: You can register at the Elections Office at 213 Palafox Place, second floor, in downtown Pensacola, at any Florida Driver’s License Office, and several other governmental offices and public assistance centers.
