Escambia County Supervisor of Elections David H. Stafford and staff spent time in April focusing on our future voters by providing students from across Escambia County with hands-on voting experience and election education. Currently the 18 to 25 age group of registered voters is the second highest demographic to register to vote but has the lowest voter participation rate. By engaging students at an early age, we hope to change this statistic.
Reaching record numbers in participation, the following schools took part in various activities such as Student Government Association elections, voter outreach, Sunshine State Reader elections and more:
- C.A. Weiss Elementary
- Escambia High School
- Escambia Westgate Center
- Lipscomb Elementary
- N.B. Cook Elementary
- Pensacola State College
- Tate High School
- University of West Florida
- West Florida High School
We are also looking forward to visiting the following schools in the coming days:
- A.K. Suter Elementary
- Bellview Middle School
- Catholic High School
- Escambia High School
- Jim Allen Elementary
- Pensacola High School
- Pine Forest High School
- Sherwood Elementary
