Poll Worker and Outreach Program Specialist
Recruitment Range: $38,113 – $41,924 annually

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Administer poll worker program, to include worker recruitment and retention for each election cycle, and ensuring compliance with all applicable policies and procedures
• Maintain poll worker database and records
• Supervise the planning, administration, and implementation to adequately staff all election day and early voting polling locations and provide for contingencies
• Work in coordination with other departments to ensure all facility contracts and logistics are secured and managed in the database
• Collaborate with the outreach and training coordinator in preparing the poll worker manual and other training materials
• Create the poll worker classes, assign participants, send training letters, record attendance, and reschedule participants as necessary
• Participate as an active member of the training team
• Coordinate with warehouse staff in election preparations, including all supplies and equipment deployed to polling locations
• Directly responsible for poll workers on election day, during early voting, and any special assignments
• Schedule and coordinate workers to assist with the processing of absentee ballots
• Prepare payroll for poll workers following the election, and evaluate compliance with Federal and State election laws and Supervisor of Elections policies and procedures
• Collaborate with the outreach coordinator with planning and execution of outreach and educational activities
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently, prepare professional verbal and written communications, and maintain confidentiality on sensitive issues
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Provides general information to public concerning registration, deadlines, elected officials, governmental districts, terms of office and elections
• Perform other election-related duties as required
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three to five years experience; or an equivalent combination of education, knowledge and skills sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
