Supervisor of Elections David H. Stafford, Vice Chairman of the Council on State Governments’ Overseas Voting Initiative (CSG OVI) Policy Working Group, participated last week in the official release of their policy recommendations to improve voting for U.S. military and overseas voters.
“It was an honor to serve with election officials from across the country in this important effort to identify tangible ways to improve the election experience for military and overseas voters,” said Stafford. “With such a large population of military voters in our region, my Northwest Florida colleagues and I take great pride in serving those who serve us.”
One of the working group meetings was held in Escambia County, which included a session on board NAS Pensacola with the Commanding Officer of the base and other uniformed personnel.
The Council of State Governments is our nation’s only organization serving all three branches of state government. CSG is a region-based forum that fosters the exchange of insights and ideas to help state officials shape public policy. This offers unparalleled regional, national and international opportunities to network, develop leaders, collaborate and create problem-solving partnerships.
