Escambia County Supervisor of Elections David Stafford today announced a Twitter and Instagram contest in recognition of National Voter Registration Day, Tuesday, September 26, 2017. The contest is open to high school students who are registered or preregistered to vote. In Florida 16 and 17 year olds are eligible to preregister to vote.
The Twitter contest will include submissions from students who construct a tweet beginning with “I registered because…” with the student using the remaining 120 characters to complete the tweet.
The Instagram contest submissions can include photos and artwork on why it’s important to not only to register, but to actually get out and vote.
Winning tweets, photos and artwork will be published on our Twitter feed and Instagram account @EscambiaVotes on Tuesday, September 26, National Voter Registration Day. Follow us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to see their creativity.
Proposed content should be submitted via email along with the student’s name, age and school to Brandi Ziglar, at ([email protected]) no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20. For more information on the contest or other outreach activities please call our office at 595-3900.
